A versatile comic actor blending precision, playfulness, and imaginative flair across stage, screen, and song.

Katherine Alpen is a comedically gifted Canadian-British dual citizen actor and singer based in the UK, known for her versatility on both stage and screen.

She trained in Musical Theatre at Capilano University and earned an MA in Acting (Distinction) from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Theatre credits include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (White Horse Theatre, Germany), Alma in Elegies for Punks (The King’s Head, London), and the title role in her solo show Thought Monster (The Hope Theatre, London). She also spent four years improvising Shakespearean tragedies with Vancouver’s Shakespeare After Dark.

On screen, Alpen starred in the indie feature Exuvia (Bradeway Pictures), earning a Leo Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role (2022). Other film credits include Living with Bigfoot (Mills Pictures), Camp Death III (Frame Forty Films), and Key to Christmas (Mills Pictures). She also works regularly in commercials and animation voice-over, bringing the same energy and comedic flair to her recorded performances.

In addition to acting, Alpen is a writer and theatre-maker. Her solo show Thought Monster explores her lived experience with OCD, and she continues to create work that blends humour, honesty, and musicality. She is also passionate about fostering creative community, having spearheaded sold-out networking initiatives as part of the Young Emerging Actors Committee with the Union of BC Performers.

Future goals include bringing her comedic voice to the West End and developing work that supports creatives navigating mental health through art.
